Founded in 1909 by Tomàs Bartis Font, the Hostal Bartis in Figueres is a familiar and unique business that welcomes travelers from all over with a close and quality treatment.
Hostal Bartis is located next to Plaça del Gra, where the weekly fruit and vegetable market happens, and the train and bus stations. The establishment, with a hundred years of history, is run by the fourth generation of the Bartis family. During this time, Hostal Bartis has undergone various renovations to modernize the facilities and adapt them to the needs of our guests. Our desire is for everyone to feel at home with a close and friendly treatment.
Just a 5-minute walk from the historic center of Figueres and the Dalí Theater-Museum, Hostal Bartis is the ideal place to relax comfortably and gather strength to discover all the secrets hidden in the city: its museums, its history, its artists. But we are also very well connected with access to the villages of the beautiful Alt Empordà coast such as Cadaqués, Roses, L'Escala and Llançà, and the natural landscapes of the region: the Albera, the Aiguamolls de l'Empordà, and Cap de Creus.
Hostal Bartis is right next to Plaça del Gra, a historic covered area where the traditional fruit and vegetable market is held every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. This is a place full of aromas, colors and sensations that connect with the best product that our land gives.
Figueres is the capital of the Alt Empordà. Walking through its streets, the Rambla, and admiring its buildings, we can find traces of an exceptional past. In addition to marveling at one of the best museums in the world, the Dalí Theater-Museum, we can also visit the largest fortress in Europe, Sant Ferran Castle; walk through the cloister of the oldest institute in Spain; admire one of the most important toy collections in the country at the Museu del Joguet de Catalunya or contemplate works of art of great beauty at the Museu de l’Empordà.
Few cities can say that three great geniuses were born on the same street: the surrealist painter Salvador Dalí; the inventor of the Ictineu submarine, Narcís Monturiol, and the poet Carles Fages de Climent. But Figueres is a modern, lively city of the 21st century, which stands out for its commercial tradition. In its center, there is a great activity with shops of the best brands, restaurants, and bars that give life to a city that seeks to project itself to the world.
